Privacy Notice
How LUCC handles your personal information.
What we collect
When you apply for membership we collect your name, student ID, department, batch, semester, email address, phone number and, optionally, your skills, interests and a photograph. This is the minimum information needed to run the club.
Why we collect it
Your information is used only for club operations: verifying that you are a student of Leading University, contacting you about events and club activities, and maintaining the member register.
What is public
Only approved, non-sensitive fields appear on the public website: your name, position, department, batch, membership category and an approved photograph. Student IDs are shown only in masked form.
What is never public
Your email address, application details and any private notes are never displayed on the website and are never sent to visitors' browsers. Your phone number is also kept private, with one deliberate exception: the current Adviser and Co-Adviser(s) have their contact number published on the Advisors page, since that role is a public point of contact for the club. Access to every other member's phone number is restricted to authorised club administrators.
Payment and third-party processing
If you pay a membership or event fee, your payment is handled by the club's own payment service (a separate LUCC-operated system), which verifies transactions sent via bKash, Nagad, Rocket or Upay — we never see or store your mobile banking PIN or password. Your uploaded photographs and files are stored with Cloudinary; confirmation emails are sent via Brevo; and event reminders may be sent via SMS through a bulk SMS provider. Each of these only receives the minimum information needed to do its job (e.g. your email address for Brevo, your phone number for SMS, the file itself for Cloudinary) and does not use it for anything else on the club's behalf.
How long we keep it
Member records are kept while you are a member and for club history (e.g. past committees). You may request correction or removal of your personal information at any time.
Corrections and requests
To correct, update or remove your information, contact the club at lucc@lus.ac.bd. Requests are handled by the committee.
